How Cream is Made

Cream is a natural component of fresh, whole milk that is produced in local communities throughout BC. Cream naturally separates and floats on top of freshly gathered milk. Generations ago this cream layer was spooned off and used to make butter or used in cooking. Today, milk is taken from the farm to the dairy, where the cream is separated from the milk. This cream is then processed into different types of cream by adding milk in different amounts to create the wide variety of creams you can buy at the grocery store. It is available in different varieties so that you can always find one to suit your cooking needs. All cream is pasteurized to ensure that it is a high quality, safe product. Cream adds a delicious flavour, luxurious texture and a gourmet touch to your everyday cooking.
